Who wouldn’t want to kick back a couple of beers in the reptile room?

The Maine Discovery Museum is hosting an exciting, brew-filled event, Arts & Drafts: Cinco de Mayo, on (ironically) May 4th from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event is aimed at adults aged 21 and above, and all the proceeds will go towards supporting the Maine Discovery Museum's daily S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) education programs.

Arts & Drafts: Cinco de Mayo will offer a range of exciting activities for folks, including Paint-a-Pint, Mosaic Coasters, and Piñata-making. Participants will receive a drink with each activity listed, along with sweet and savory snacks and treats. The event will take place across the three floors, with hands-on, take-home art projects paired with adult beverages.

Paint-a-Pint, which is back by popular demand, will allow attendees to paint their own personalized pint glass, beer stein, or wine glass using one of the provided templates or their own creative ideas. Meanwhile, participants can also try their hand at creating their own mosaic coasters or making a piñata while enjoying a local brew.

The Maine Discovery Museum is known for its kid-friendly exhibits, but this event offers a fun twist that gets adults involved in the museum's offerings. The museum, located in the heart of downtown Bangor, is Maine's largest children's museum and the largest located north of Boston and is a member of the Association of Children's Museums.

Tickets for Arts & Drafts: Cinco de Mayo are available on the Maine Discovery Museum’s website, and attendees will be required to show ID at check-in.
