Local Man Dies After Crash In Chelsea

A man was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center after a single-car crash early Monday morning in Kennebec County.

Craig MacMunn, 39, of Washington, Maine died at the Portland hospital Tuesday night, according to Maine State Police.

MacMunn’s SUV struck a utility pole and rock embankment at the intersection of Route 17 and Windsor Road in Chelsea.

The crash was reported just after 2 a.m.

Troopers said speed was a factor, and MacMunn was not wearing a seat belt.
