Levant Man Killed in Head-on Collision with Pulp Truck

A Levant man was killed in a head-on crash in Canaan on Saturday.

The accident happened early Saturday morning on Route 2, near the Pittsfield town line. According to WABI-TV, 34-year-old Adam Durant was killed when the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line and collided with a green pulp truck. Officials say they believe driver fatigue was a factor in the crash.

The driver of the truck, 53-year-old Linwood Walker of Etna, and Durant's passenger, 39-year-old Robert Hall of Bangor, were both taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This accident remains under investigation.
