Kenny Chesney 'Spreads The Love' At Bangor Waterfront

Country superstar Kenny Chesney brought his Spread the Love Tour to Bangor Saturday night, bringing thousands of his loyal fans to Darling's Waterfront Pavilion.

Before the leader of "No Shoes Nation" took the stage, opening act Old Dominion got the evening rolling with their hit "Snapback." The song launched a 10-song set that included a cover of John Cougar's "Pink Houses," their 2015 hit "Break Up With Him" and their current single "Song for Another Time."

The crowd of more than 8,000 welcomed Chesney to the Bangor stage with screams and cheers as darkness (and a little rain) fell as he launched his set with his 2005 smash "Beer in Mexico."

Although it was cold and cloudy here in Bangor, Chesney kept his fans' minds on the sun, rolling through his the first half of his set with summer anthems including "Summertime," "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems," and (with some help from Old Dominion) "Save It For a Rainy Day."

Rain or shine, Chensey always puts on a great show in Bangor, often departing from his set list. Thursday's show was no exception as he included crowd-favorite "Old Blue Chair" for the first time this tour because he said it "felt right."

Chesney also stopped the show (something he rarely does) after seeing woman in the crowd with a sign saying she traveled 3,321 miles to hear his guitarist Clayton Mitchell sing. Chesney obliged, after joking about the sign hurting his feelings, and Chesney and Mitchell joined forces on the Kinks' classic "You Really Got Me."

Lots of our Q106.5 Country Club members were at the show, including three who went the extra mile to meet Chensey himself before the show.

Chesney's new album, recently renamed Cosmic Hallelujah, is set for release on Oct. 28.
