Jelly Roll opened up about a recent personal setback, saying in a YouTube video that he felt “scared” to step on the scale after gaining weight and feeling like he had “lost his way.”

The country superstar, whose real name is Jason DeFord, said he had eased up on his diet during the holidays and later had to stop exercising for a period of time after breaking his collarbone, following a major weight-loss journey that began when he weighed more than 500 pounds.

Weighing in at 276 pounds on Friday, April 10th, Jelly Roll told fans that he had gained 12 pounds after avoiding the scale.

The country singer said he plans to continue his weight loss journey and hopes to run the New York City Marathon in November.

Jelly Roll will bring his ‘Little ASS Shed Tour’ to the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor on Saturday, June 20th, with special guest Kashus Culpepper.

The show comes after the success of his 2023 country debut album, Whitsitt Chapel, which helped launch his rise in country music by debuting near the top of the Billboard charts and featuring songs like “Save Me” and “Need a Favor.”
