Have you ever gone to a tourist attraction hoping it was more than you ever anticipated, only to find out it fell flat on your expectations?

There's something about managing expectations, and some attractions just don't do that well.  If you are going to a tourist area and the main attraction is boring, you hope the rest of the regional appeal can make up for it.

Solitaired.com recently released some findings which were published by the DailyMail.com, showing the top 100 most boring attractions in the world.

We are talking about places like the Shrek's Adventure in London, the Museum of Ice Cream in New York, and Branson's Scenic Railway.  I cannot speak from experience, but I don't think these are tourist attractions for anyone seeking adventure.

However, a surprise on the list landed at #4.  The fourth most boring attraction in the world, according to the Google-based survey, is the only place that made it on the list in New England.

The site looked at over 66.7 million Google reviews to create the list.

If you are intrigued by the occult, witches, and spooky attractions, then you will be shocked to learn the Salem Witch Museum in Salem, Massachusetts had very low marks for creativity and intrigue.

It's a very creepy-looking, church-like building with a great room centered around images which light up and tell the story of the Salem Witch Trials.

I am not sure what people expect, but it is educational, and I remember going there on a school trip to learn more about Massachusetts history.

With throngs of people descending upon Salem year-round, especially in late October, I am not sure it deserves to be so high on the list. But if scoring on activity, there is none. You sit and watch and learn.
