The Instagram account @terriblemap, which describes itself as ‘the home of terrible maps with a pinch of humour,’ posted it on Wednesday, February 11th.

The page shared a map highlighting the most popular word used in online dating profiles from each U.S. state

While some states like Texas, Oklahoma, and North Dakota shared words like ‘oil,’ and others like Michigan and Ohio had ‘bonfires’ in common, Maine stood in a category of its own.

The Pine Tree State was the only one in the country with ‘woods’ listed as its most popular word.

Other words that were apparently common across the country included ‘hunt’ or ‘hunting,’ ‘kayak,’ ‘farm,’ ‘hike, ' 'hikes,’ ‘grilling,’ ‘cabin,' and 'desert.’

Of course, since this comes from an account literally named ‘terrible maps’ and doesn’t include a source, we can’t confirm that the map is 100% accurate — although one commenter did call it a ‘genuinely interesting and good map.’
