Gary Mullen & The Works Return To Cross Center For One Night Of Queen This April
Imagine being voted a fan-favorite on a national television show for your impression of one of the greatest rock voices of all time, and then getting to go on tour performing a tribute to that voice every night.

Scottish reality TV star, Gary Mullen, doesn't have to imagine that life. That IS his life.
In the year 2000, some of Mullen's family members were so impressed with this amateur's ability to sing that they secretly sent videos of his karaoke performances to Scottish network producers.
He was asked, almost as a fluke, to perform for the UK’s most-watched talent contest, ITV’s “Stars in Their Eyes." He chose to sing a Queen tune, and well, the rest is history.
Over 800,000 people called in to vote for Mullen, to the point where he won the entire show.

Mullen, who was already part of a cover band overseas, got the idea to hone his skills impersonating (or as some put it, embodying) iconic Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, and with his band 'The Works' (which consists of David Brockett on guitar, Malcolm Gentles on keyboards, Jon Halliwell on drums and Alan McGeoch on bass guitar) take the show on the road.
He's so good, in fact, Queen's legendary guitarist, Brian May, has even commented that Mullen's performance is "... more than a likeness."

Mullen brought his show, 'One Night Of Queen' to Bangor last year, as part of the Hollywood Casino's 'Ballroom Series,' and I can tell you from experience, this show did not disappoint.
The energy, the showmanship, the talent were on full display from the first epic note to the last. The audience was delighted and sang along with every song.
Which is why I was super excited to hear that Mullen & The Works are coming back this April with a brand new Queen show!
According to organizers,
"Queen ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN: A Tribute Performed By Gary Mullen & The Works returns with a brand new show, paying homage to Queen’s legendary “Magic Tour,” their final tour with Freddie Mercury, which was never played in the USA. Complete with accurate costumes, staging, lighting, and set list, this show is certainly ‘A Kind Of Magic!.. The band will have you dancing in the aisles as they present the stage theatrics, showmanship, and music of arguably the greatest rock band of all time: QUEEN! This isn’t an ordinary tribute, this is a true Rock ‘N’ Roll experience!"
The new One Night Of Queen show will take place in the Cross Insurance Center ballroom on Sunday April 12th at 7 PM.
