We've been waiting for this moment, here at the office.

One of the perks of working on the Acme Road in Brewer all these years, is that there's a Big Apple convenience store at the corner of Acme and Wilson Street. So it's pretty much felt like we had our own private convenience store, right at the end of the road. Five minutes on foot, or 30 seconds by car. It was perfect. Until last summer...

I'm not necessarily a spontaneous person, but I do love options. So having this store down the street has been amazing. You can only look so may times at the same nine items in the vending machine downstairs. But I have to say, I was bowled right over when I walked into the new Big Apple today.

First off, it's huge. If you remember the old spot, if there were more than a few people in line, it screwed up the flow of the whole store. There's room for everybody now. There's also all the old favorites, as far as snacks and such. But there's a much bigger beer selection, including the ever-popular "beer cave".

Also a clutch move, the store will still be a 24-hour store. That's huge. There aren't as many 24-hour businesses as there used to be, especially in this part of the state. But you can go back to your old routine, and make it your pit-stop once again. I didn't even know it was open this morning, so I mad e special trip over, haha. But rejoice folks... Things are back to normal on Wilson Street. Well, as much as ever.
