Body Of Woman Discovered After Welfare Check In Bangor
Bangor Police discovered a body in a residence on Larkin Street at around 9 AM Wednesday.
Det. Lt. Brent Beaulieu says officers found the deceased individual after a co-worker called authorities when the person failed to show up for work Wednesday morning.
"Upon arrival, Bangor Police officers discovered a deceased female within the residence. Detectives and evidence technicians remain on site processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. The female will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for a post-mortem examination."
We're told authorities had the area around the residence taped off and were still at the scene gathering evidence late into the afternoon Wednesday.
Police have not yet released the identity of the woman.
Det. Lt. Beaulieu says the incident remains under investigation.
We will update the story as more details become available.
