
Bangor Man Arrested And Charged With Sexual Exportation Crimes Against A Minor, Sheriff Says
A 19-year-old Bangor man is behind bars today, after being arrested and charged with sex crimes against a minor, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say Shawn Fleming was arrested Friday, March 20th, and charged with multiple counts of Gross Sexual Assault, Unlawful Sexual Contact, Solicitation of a Child to Commit A Prohibited Act, and Visual Sexual Agression against a child.

"On February 26, 2026, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division received a complaint involving 19-year-old Shawn Fleming of Bangor, Maine, involving the sexual exploitation of a minor victim. After receiving the complaint, an investigation by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division ensued. The investigation revealed additional victims and serious child sexual exploitation offenses that had taken place over several years."

Authorities say the investigation is still active. Fleming is being held at the Penobscot County Jail, awaiting a court appearance.
