Traffic was delayed for hours on Route 111 in Arundel after a dump truck was engulfed in flames Tuesday evening.

Driver Saw Smoke Coming from the Dump Truck

The York County Sheriff’s Office said 19-year-old Logan S. Ricker from Sanford was driving the dump truck near 987 Alfred Road when he pulled over after seeing smoke coming from the vehicle.

Truck was “Engulfed in Flames”

“Shortly after, the vehicle was engulfed in flames,” said the Sheriff’s Office. No one was injured.

Traffic was Delayed for a Long Period of Time

Traffic was delayed and detoured for “an extended period of time” while firefighters put out the fire and crews cleared the scene.

Multiple Fire Departments Fought the Fire

Fire Departments from Arundel, Goodwins Mills, and Biddeford responded and put out the truck fire. Ray's Truck Services removed the destroyed vehicle.

Dump Truck Destroyed

The 2005 Kenworth dump truck belonged to N.M. Curtis Earthworks in Berwick, Maine.
