An ice fishing derby in Enfield this weekend will benefit the Master Sergeant Gary Gordon Veteran's Center.

The first Gary Gordon Ice Fishing Derby will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Anglers can pre-register from 10:30 a.m. til 5 p.m. at the Veterans Center. Registration is $10 for adults, $15 for a family, $6 for veterans and seniors over 60. Participants will be given a list of rules and guidelines when they register.

There will be plenty of refreshments for sale, including 'camp coffee,' tea, hot chocolate, chop suey, donuts, and more. Kids will get to make s'mores for free, over a bonfire. All the proceeds from the day will benefit the MSG Gary Gordon Veterans Center.

Cash prizes will be awarded in multiple categories, including largest of each species caught, including salmon, togue, white perch, bass, and pickerel. In addition, there will be a special category for ages 12 and under, with a prize awarded for the largest fish caught by the kids. In case of bad weather, the derby will be held March 4-5.

The Master Sergeant Gary Gordon Veterans Center is located at 118 Main Street in Lincoln. For more information, log onto the organization's website or Facebook page.
