The Bangor and Downeast areas will see heavy rainfall late this week. Coastal areas should be prepared for minor coastal flooding.

The National Weather Service in Caribou is forecasting over two inches of heavy rain Friday for the Bangor area. Downeast areas will also see over two inches of rain.

Coastal areas may see minor flooding Friday and Saturday with the rain in combination with astronomical tides from the upcoming full moon. There's also warnings along the coast for high winds.

Inland areas may experience hazardous travel conditions Friday morning with freezing rain expected.
