With near triple-digit temps expected Saturday, forecasters have issued a heat advisory for parts of Maine.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Bangor area and much of eastern Maine Saturday. Temps are expected to reach near 100 degrees Saturday.

The NWS says: "A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors"

Sunday temps in the Bangor area will remain hot and humid, with highs around 90.
