Disturbing new details are coming to light about a man's body that was found outside a home in South Gardiner last week.

The Victim and Accused Murder Were Father and Son

Gregory Fisher, 52, of South Gardiner was in court this week, charged with murder for the death of Alfred Macmaster. Fisher is MacMaster's son.

An Autopsy Revealed the Victim's Cause of Death

Police were called by a family member to a home on Bartlett Street in South Gardiner on Friday, July 26th, for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found a deceased man outside the residence, who was later identified as MacMaster. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, which confirmed his identity, and determined that he had died of blunt force trauma.

Court Documents State That MacMaster Died Days Before He Was Found

Fisher was not in court this week, but made his appearance via virtual means. WGME-TV reports it was revealed in court that the 52-year-old is charged with murder, accused of beating his father to death. Even more disturbing is the fact that Mr. MacMaster was killed five to seven days before his body was found by police.

When Fisher began to make a statement during the hearing, his attorney and the judge warned him against it. He's being held without bail.
