An Athens couple was arrested on drug charges Thursday after police went to their home for a probation check.

The arrests came after state police and probation officers went to the home to check on Tyler Watson, 26.

Tyler Watson's wife Tara Watson, 28, and the couple's four children were also in the home at the time of the probation check.

Police say they located 12 baggies of suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,500.

They also seized 57 hypodermic needles, crack pipes and $248 in suspected drug proceeds, police said.

Health and Human Services took custody of the children.

The husband and wife were charged with unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of hypodermic apparatuses and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.

They were transported to the Somerset County Jail, where bail was set at $50,000.
