I spent two days at the American Folk Festival and loved every minute of it. What a wonderful event for the city of  Bangor! So many sights and sounds, people of all ages, and food!

It's Sunday evening and we just got home from day 2. While it's all still fresh in my mind, I wanted to list my favorites....

Musical performance: Marquise Knox and his amazing blues guitar. Wow!

Street performer: Maximum Blue. Great fiddle and guitar!

Food: The pulled pork sandwich. Yummy!

Beverage: Eli's Root Beer. Perfectly refreshing on a very hot day!

Non-musical portion: The Marketplace. Wish I'd taken more money!

Volunteer: The gentlemen a little older than me (I assume) who danced his way through the crowd as a member of the Bucket Brigade. His enthusiasm and joy was infectious!

Final Impression: Tim Horton's giving away free TimBit kabobs on the way out of the festival. Great marketing, folks...I'm sure many festival-goers stopped for coffee on their way home.

On my way out today, I noticed the donation totals at the gate. As of Saturday night, they were shy of the year's goal...but not impossibly so.  Here's hoping the festival hits its goal this year so it can continue
