This week the Thomas Hill Standpipe will open for the first time this year.

The Thomas Hill Standpipe will open four times in 2019. The historic Bangor landmark traditionally opens once per-season. The Standpipe tours give folks a rare opportunity to climb to the top for a 360-degree view of Bangor and beyond. The first tour of the year is Wednesday, May 22, from 3-6p.m.

2019 Thomas Hill Standpipe Tours:

  • Wednesday, July 24 – 4:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Wednesday, Oct. 9   – 3:00pm – 6:00pm

The standpipe was built in 1897 and is designated as a National Historic Landmark by the Maine Historic Preservation Commission.
