
Hancock County, Maine Investigation Ends in Waterville Crash
An investigation into two burglaries in the Ellsworth area is tied to a high-speed chase and crash in Waterville.
Five People Face Charges for Burglaries in Ellsworth and Trenton, Maine
Larando Sweeting, 18, of Lewiston is charged with:
- Burglary
- Aggravated criminal mischief
- Theft by unauthorized taking or transfer
Sweeting was transported to the Hancock County jail.
Four juvenile suspects, whose names have not been released, were charged and taken to a juvenile detention facility.
Burglaries in Ellsworth, Trenton, Maine are Under Investigation, 5 Suspects Arrested
The charges stem from an investigation that began with a burglary, reported at 4:48 am, at a business in Trenton.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, when the five suspects left the Trenton business, they traveled to Ellsworth, where they allegedly burglarized another business.

The Ellsworth investigation into the break-in at the Smokey Bear Tobacco and Beverage store is being handled by the Ellsworth Police.
Hancock County Burglary Investigations Result in a Pursuit, Crash in Waterville, Maine
A Hancock County Deputy located the suspects on Oak Point Road in Trenton and got the vehicle to pull over for a traffic stop on Bar Harbor Road.

When two more officers arrived to assist in the stop, the vehicle took off, leading a brief pursuit that was terminated due to safety concerns during the morning commute.
When the vehicle was spotted in Waldo County, law enforcement tried to get the driver to pull over, but the vehicle continued on, ultimately crashing in Waterville.
At this point, all five suspects were taken into custody.
This case remains under investigation.
