Despite recent rain, Maine is still experiencing drought conditions statewide.

While conditions have improved, Maine is still in a drought. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, much of Maine is in a state of "Moderate" drought. Coastal areas, from Bar Harbor to Portland, are is experiencing "Severe" drought conditions. Much of York County continues to see "Extreme" drought conditions.

Progress was made when storms across the state dumped inches of rain throughout last week. Much of Maine was experiencing "Severe" drought conditions. Three portions of the state were listed under "Extreme" drought conditions.

Rain is in the forecast for next week for the Bangor area. According to the National Weather Service, the Bangor area could see its first snowflakes of the season Monday. Forecast details also show potential for a few flakes Tuesday night into Wednesday.
