Get ready to find relief from the extreme heat expected this Thursday and Friday, and if you're going to be working outdoors, well then lord have mercy.

The National Weather Service informs us that we can expect high temperatures near 90 degrees both Thursday and Friday of this week, with dangerous heat indices in the mid to upper 90s in the Bangor area.

That's hot, and we're told to expect a lot of hair-curling humidity during the latter half of the week as well.

Expected overnight lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights will not provide much relief either.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then patchy drizzle after midnight. Areas of fog after midnight. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%

Friday: Areas of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%

A chance of showers and thundershowers moves into Saturday as well with partly sunny skies and a high temperature of 84.  A little cooler by Sunday with a high of 81 and mostly sunny skies.
