Two people are facing charges after crystal methamphetamine and a rifle with a loaded high capacity magazine were seized from their car.

A vehicle driven by 26-year-old Justin Cohen of Portland was stopped on the Maine turnpike in York at around 11:30 at night on June 7th. State Police say an investigation of Cohen and his passenger, 36-year-old Dan Doody of Durham, who are both felons, led them to search the vehicle.

Seized as a result of that search were 103 grams of crystal methamphetamine, as well as a loaded 9 mm rifle with a high capacity magazine, and a small amount of liquid meth. Cohen and Doody were both arrested and taken to the York County Jail in Alfred, where they're being held without bail.

Cohen is charged with Class A aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and violation of conditions of release. He was also booked on 6 active warrants and will be charged with operating after revocation and failure to give correct name and date of birth to police.
