Country Artists Salute Eddie Van Halen + More Country Music News
Van Halen co founder and guitarist Eddie Van Halen died yesterday after a decades-long battle with cancer.
Kenny Chesney called him a friend and a hero.
Van Halen and brother Alex joined Chesney and his band onstage at a show in Los Angeles, Calif., the country superstar remembers in a touching Facebook post.
Brad Paisley was one of the many musicians from across all genres who turned to social media to pay tribute to the influence Eddie Van Halen, . Paisley lauded Van Halen's "fire and style" and shared a clip of himself teaming with an all-star band to deliver a cover of one of Van Halen's signature songs, "Hot for Teacher," and wrote "I am so sad to hear we lost @eddievanhalen today,"
And Keith Urban turned to social media to praise his originality, saying the news of his death "hit me hard."
CMT revealed another round of 2020 CMT Music Awards performers on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 6). Ingrid Andress, Hardy and more new artists have joined the lineup for the annual country music awards show.
Andress, Hardy, Caylee Hammack, Mickey Guyton, Riley Green and Travis Denning will all perform on the Ram Trucks Side Stage during the 2020 CMT Music Awards. Hammack, Andress, Green and Denning are first-time nominees up for the Breakthrough Video of the Year honor, along with Blanco Brown and Gabby Barrett
Previously announced 2020 CMT Music Awards performers include Maren Morris, Kane Brown, Ashley McBryde, Dan + Shay, Little Big Town and Luke Bryan. All six of those artists are nominated in at least one category at the 2020 event.
The Show will air on Weds Oct. 21 at 9pm on CMT as well as others and feature, per a press release, "epic outdoor performances in and around Music City."
Kane Brown will take the stage during the 2020 Billboard Music Awards next Weds the 14th at 9pm on NBC.
The show, hosted by Kelly Clarkson, will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif., having moved from its intended home in Las Vegas. It is unclear who will be there in person and who will be performing or accepting awards remotely.
