Maine State Police are asking folks to have some patience when traveling the interstate near Pittsfield Monday afternoon. They have crews busy trying to clean up a bit of a mess and retrieve some vehicles that went off the road earlier today.

According to the State Police Facebook Page, the crash happened around 1 PM, in the Northbound lane, near Mile Marker 144.

"A Class A motorhome hauling a suburban went off the roadway due to a tire blowout. Currently, lane 1 is shut down and will update when open again. Recovery of the vehicles is underway."

If you are able to, authorities suggest avoiding that area altogether, until they are able to get the vehicles back up to the roadway. Obviously, with vehicles of this size, moving them up an embankment will not be an easy feat.

There's no news yet on if anyone was injured. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
