11-Year-Old Girl Killed In Crash

A crash in Cathance Township last night killed the driver's 11-year-old daughter.

The accident happened just after 11 p.m. on Route 191. A vehicle driven by 45-year-old Christopher Stevenson of Roque Bluffs left the road and struck a tree. His 11-year-old daughter died in the crash. Stevenson was summoned on a charge of operating after suspension.

According to the Machias Valley News Observer, the girl was a student at the Rose M. Gaffney school. Classes started an hour late this morning, in response to the news.

Police continue to investigate what caused the crash.
