Car Accident Knocks Out Power For Nearly 1700 Customers

A car accident has knocked out power to more than 1,600 customers just outside Brewer this morning.

Emera Maine reports that the outage is affecting customers in Dedham, Amherst, Bradley, Clifton, Eddington, Holden, and Mariahville. A vehicle has damaged a utility pole, which has caused the outage that's affected a total of 1,691 households. Crews have been dispatched to replace the pole and make additional repairs. Power is expected to be restored by 11:00 this morning.
