The Maine Warden Service says a Brunswick man died while tubing behind a boat on Sebago Lake.

The incident happened at approximately 4:30 Sunday afternoon, near New Place Cove, which is near Point Sebago. 37-year-old Corey Wilcox was with a group of five people on a work outing, and was being towed behind a 22-foot Sun Tracker pontoon boat, that had been rented at Port Harbor Marine. Officials say, at some point, Wilcox began showing signs of medical distress, causing the operator to stop the boat to help him. Several passengers from the boat jumped in the water to help Wilcox, who was not wearing a life jacket. Another boat operator in the area heard the commotion and pulled Wilcox aboard, where lifesaving measures were applied, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Officials say water conditions were very rough on the lake, which may have contributed to the incident. An autopsy is planned at the State Medical Examiner's Office. Maine Wardens were assisted at the scene by Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputies and the Raymond Fire Department.
