Body Found Near Tenants Harbor Identified As Missing Clammer

The Maine Marine Patrol says a body discovered Monday near Tenants Harbor has been identified as a missing clammer from Thomaston.

The body was discovered just before noon in Long Cove.

The area had been the focal point of a search for Paul Benner, who went missing after he went out Thursday to dig for clams.

The Marine Patrol confirmed the identity of the body later Monday after it was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The agency on Monday did not release a cause of death.
