
Maine Police Investigating A Double Homicide, Suicide In Bath
Maine State Police say three people were found dead in a Bath home, 2 were killed, one took his own life.
Police Say the Three Victims in Bath Were Family
Officials say the deceased were all related:
- Michael Bailey, 66, husband.
- Lisa Bailey, 58, wife.
- Jennifer Bailey, 32, daughter.
All three people suffered gunshot wounds.
At First, Maine Police Believed the Assailant Had Fled the Scene
It was just before 7:00 Sunday morning when Bath Police responded to 10 Crawford Drive for a report of a shooting. When they got to the scene, police found two adult women suffering from gunshot wounds who, despite all life-saving efforts, were both pronounced dead at the scene. The women have been identified as Lisa and Jennifer Bailey and their deaths are considered homicides.

At first, police thought the assailant had fled the scene before they arrived. When the Maine State Police Tactical Team was called to investigate, however, they found Michael Bailey inside the residence, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Michael Bailey is married to Lisa and is Jennifer's father.
Officials are Investigating the Timeline of Events of the Bath Shootings
All three of the deceased have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where autopsies will be performed. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Bath Police Department continue to investigate the incident to piece together the timeline of events.
