When my nephews were younger, they used to love it if I would get down on the floor and do a bunch of coloring with them. They always had the coolest coloring books. Even as an adult I was jealous. When I was a kid, coloring books were pretty bland at best. They were usually just animals, or cartoon characters or whatnot.

A few years ago, I got my wife a bunch of colored pens and pencils, and a few coloring books for Christmas. Earlier that month, I'd heard how adult coloring was becoming such a hot trend, and honestly, I kind of bought them all as a gag gift.

Turns out the joke was on me. She absolutely loved them! To this day, she can't wait to get them out if we're home on a snowy weekend day, or she just has some down time and is in need of some quiet relaxation.

Well now, the Bangor Public Library is hosting an Adult Coloring Night, tonight and every Monday night, from 5:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. right at the library. The event is free, and they even supply all the materials! They have pens, pencils, crayons, and coloring sheets. As they say, you just need to bring your creativity.

Maybe I'll snag some of my own creativity and head down. Besides, my wife has already told me I can touch her good pens, so where else can I practice?
