Bangor Police responded to the Capehart area today for a report of the death of an infant.

The Child Was Found Unresponsive in Their Crib

It was shortly after 10:00 Tuesday morning when Bangor Police were called to a home in the neighborhood known as Capehart. When they arrived, officials learned that the child had been found by family members unresponsive in their crib. Rescue workers with the Police and Bangor Fire Departments performed CPR on the infant but were unable to revive the child.

An Investigation Has Been Launched Into the Child's Death

The death is now under investigation, which is standard procedure in any death of a child. Officials say family members are cooperating with investigators. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the child's cause of death.

Police Have Not Released Any Information About the Family

Police have not released any information about the child's identity or the identity of their parents.
