The Bangor Humane Society is asking for donations of soft blankets to protect their pups from the concrete floor.

Why Do They Need Blankets and Comforters?

Imagine if you had to spend winter days and nights lying on a cold, hard floor. And let's take that scenario a little further. You've been taken out of your home, put in a place where you don't know anyone, surrounded by others who seem as scared as you are. The floor is cold, there's no bed to climb into or a sofa to lie on. Just the floor. No blankets to keep you warm and no buffer against the chilly surface. That's what the dogs at the Bangor Humane Society are facing if the organization doesn't gather donations of blankets and comforters.

How Many Do They Need?

Of course, anyone who has a dog knows that blankets and comforters need to be swapped out often. I mean, accidents happen, especially when the pups are feeling anxious. So they need to put in a good supply for their linen closet to make sure they always have fresh ones to replace the ones headed to the laundry.

In my house, Toby rules the roost and sleeps each night on the couch. But he really loves having a cozy blanket under him, even though he's already on a soft surface. (of course, my dog is ridiculously spoiled) It's just comforting to them, so let's make sure that the Bangor Humane Society has more than they need.

Where Can I Donate?

Donations can be dropped off in person between Noon and 6 pm Monday through Saturday at the Bangor Humane Society, or they can be left on the facility's covered porch anytime. The Bangor Humane Society is located at 693 Mount Hope Avenue in Bangor. You donation will garner a lot of tail wags and doggy dreams, I'm sure.
