Three people are facing burglary charges after an Auburn resident called police about suspicious activity at a neighbor's house.

Police in Auburn, Maine Charged 3 Suspects With Burglary

Auburn Police say three men are facing charges:

  • Robert Hermanson, 31, is charged with burglary, theft by unauthorized use of property, and violation of conditions of release.
  • Casey Braley, 32, is charged with burglary, violation of conditions of release, and unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs.
  • Marcus Valencia, 43, is charged with burglary.

Hermanson and Braley were held without bail due to felony charges, while Valencia's bail was set at $400 with conditions.

Auburn Maine Burglary is a Case of If You See Something, Say Something

Maine police agencies are always reminding residents to report suspicious activity, and that's what foiled this alleged attemped robbery in an Auburn neighborhood. It was just before 11:00 Tuesday morning when Auburn Police were contacted by a resident who was concerned about something they observed at a neighbor's home.

The witness told the police they saw three men allegedly trying to break into the residence and a white Subaru Forester in the driveway. When the neighbor went to the house, they saw two women in the SUV. When asked, the women said they were accompanying some friends to help someone' at the home, but they weren't able to give consistent details.

Auburn Maine Police Say the Suspects Used a Stolen Car in the Alleged Burglary

When Officers arrived, they confirmed that the three men had gone into the house through a broken back window. When they walked out, they told authorities they were retrieving items for the homeowner. Police checked with the homeowner who said no one had permission to enter his property.

Officers also learned that the burglary suspects' vehicle was stolen from Waterville on April 20, 2025. This prompted a search, which resulted in the seizure of weapons and suspected stolen jewelry. Braley was allegedly found to be in possession of 39 Suboxone strips, as well.

All three men were arrested and taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.
