At least 13 people are dead and many injured in a series of explosions that rocked the Brussels airport and a downtown metro station.

USA Today reports that early, and unconfirmed, reports indicate that the death toll could be more than 30, while CNN is reporting that number is closer to 13. The explosion at the airport has been confirmed to have been a suicide attack.

CNN Security Analyst Paul Cruickshank said this morning that the concern now is that there may be more attacks in the hours ahead. "This was a coordinated gun and bomb attack in the heart of Europe."

Officials are speculating that this attack may be connected to the arrest of Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdelsam because an Isis flag and detonating equipment were found at his safe house. British Airways has cancelled it flights to and from Brussels and local residents are being urged to stay where they are while police continue to investigate.
