One of the victims of an armed robbery in Orono chased away the intruder with a rifle.

Two men and one woman face charges in connection with an armed robbery Sunday at Orchard Trails, a student housing complex on Park Street in Orono. The BDN reports a man entered the residence wearing a mask, brandished a pistol, and demanded cash. While some people in the apartment complied and gave the man money, one resident grabbed a rifle from his room and chased the robber out of the building.

The suspect ran off through the snow, leaving a trail of footprints that police were able to follow. 21-year-old Michael Lynch of Orono and 20-year-old Clark Thomas of Rockport were both charged with felony robbery and face up to 30 years in prison, if convicted. 20-year-old Katelyn Heiman, who lives at the Reserve in Orono, is charged with felony hindering apprehension or prosecution, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
