New Mexico Kayaker Dies in Maine After Overturning His Kayak
Jeffery B Eaton, 55, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was reported missing at approximately 10:30 Tuesday morning by family members who saw him overturn his kayak.
Eaton had just launched from the shore near the end of Wiegand Place on Little Deer Isle.

Several agencies responded, including the Maine Marine Patrol, Maine State Police, and U.S. Coast Guard.
Maine Marine Patrol Recovered the Body of a Kayaker from New Mexico
His body was located by a Marine Patrol pilot at approximately 1:46 pm from the waters near the Deer Isle Bridge.
Authorities say Eaton was not wearing a life jacket or a wet suit.
