Amtrak Downeaster Train To Feature Great Dome Rail Car [VIDEOS]
How about something unique to do and see?
Between August 19th and September 24th, Amtrak's Downeaster service between Brunswick and Boston will haul the Great Dome Rail Car during four trips daily!
Passengers sit in the "upper level" of this special car that features windows on a four sides and also with smaller ones in the roof! This vintage car was built back in 1955, and made the Downeaster runs for a period last year. It was brought back by popular demand.
There is no extra charge to sit in the Great Dome, seating is on a first-come first- served basis, and passengers are encourage to rotate in and out to give everyone a chance to see the sights! No reservations are taken to sit in the Great Dome Rail Car. "TrainRiders Northeast" will offer historical commentary during some of the runs.
