It's the only good thing about summer coming to an end.

The Blue Hill Fair begins when the gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, and it will continue until Labor Day, Sept. 4.

Pack up the minivan with the kids and head out to the Blue Hill Fairgrounds for a day of rides, music, animals, arts, and fun!

Cool stuff this year includes the classic rock band Octavia on the Midway Stage Saturday night. Also on Saturday night, Bob Marley, Maine's favorite comedian!  Sunday's entertainment includes Terry Lee Goffee's Tribute To Johnny Cash on the Midway Stage at 7:30 p.m., and then the Mammoth Aerial Fireworks Display at 9 p.m.  Monday has the Demolition Derby happening at 4 p.m. and then Jake Irish and Between Dead Stations on the Midway Stage at 7 p.m..

General admission to this Blue Hill Fair varies. Thursday, Aug. 31 is Dollar Day where admission and the cost per ride is only $1. Friday's admission is $8, and it's also Senior Citizens Day, where everyone 62 and over can get in for only $3.  Admission on Saturday, Sunday and Monday is $10.  Monday is "Wristband Day", where $20 will get you on as many rides as you want. Children under 12 are admitted free, and the parking is free as well.  No dogs. Admission covers the cost of all stage shows.
