A pair of Cyr Potato Corp.employees are accused of stealing potatoes from the company and selling them to local businesses and residents in the St. John Valley, Maine State Police said Wednesday night.

Company officials, who believe the crime occurred over the past 4 1/2 years, first contacted police on July 31.

Sgt. Chad Fuller says a police investigation revealed approximately $45,000 worth of sales of stolen potatoes.

Lloyd Voisine, 61, of St. Agatha and Paul Gervais, 69, of Frenchville both face Class B Theft charges.

The two will appear in Fort Kent District Court on November 2.
