Victim Suffers Critical Injuries in Buxton Shooting

A man is hospitalized with critical injuries after a shooting in the town of Buxton.

According to the Buxton Police Department's Facebook page, the shooting happened at around 2:45 Sunday morning on the Old Orchard Road. Buxton and Saco Police Departments responded and found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Maine Medical center for life-threatening injuries and, at last report, was listed in critical condition.

Police have interviewed the man they say is responsible for the shooting. Maine State Police have taken over the case and their crime scene investigation unit has processed the scene. They say there's no danger to the public. Police have not released the names of the victim or the alleged shooter.
