UMPI Student Proposes To Girlfriend At Commencement Ceremony

The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s commencement ceremony on Saturday included a surprise wedding proposal.

During the ceremony, Timothy Babine, a member of UMPI's Class of 2016, got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend to marry him.

The girlfriend, Hayley Hamilton, a fine arts major, said yes.

A video of the proposal was picked up by national media outlets, getting airtime on ABC News, Good Morning America, Fox News, Inside Edition and CBS.
