Traffic northbound on I-95 in Bangor is slowed due to a truck accident. A lane closure is planned for later tonight to remove a dump truck that overturned in the median.

A dump truck has rolled over in the median between the Broadway and Stillwater Avenue exits. Motorists are being advised to expect delays or find an alternate route while the scene is cleared.

WABI-TV reports the truck was headed northbound when it blew a tire, crossed over the passing lane, and took out a guardrail. The 79-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital. No other cars were involved in the crash.

Police are letting the truck stay where it landed until early evening, when the passing lane will be shut down, sometime after 7:00. Removal of the dump truck was delayed to allow rush hour traffic to calm down.
