An investigation into the location of a former meth lab turned up evidence consistent with another meth lab. One man has been taken into custody and police say more arrests are likely.

Commander Peter Arno of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said in a press release today that the MDEA’s Aroostook County Task force and the Clandestine Drug Laboratary Enforcement Team executed a search warrant early Saturday at 699 Walker Road in Hodgdon. They got the search warrant after Aroostook County Sheriff’s Deputy Erica Pelletier and State Trooper Jared Sylvia noticed, during an unrelated visit, material consistent with a meth lab. That search turned up evidence consistent with their suspicions.

James Boyce, 31 of Hodgdon, has been charged with Class B Trafficking in Methamphetamine and violations of conditions of release. Boyce was taken to the Aroostook County Jail, where he’s being held without bail.

This is the second time this year MDEA’s lab team and Sheriff’s deputies have executed a search warrant at this residence. In March, another lab was discovered at the same location and arrested Marcus Toner for manufacturing methamphetamine. Police say it’s unclear what, if any, relationship there is between Toner and Boyce.

The MDEA was assisted by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, the Maine State Police, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and the Hodgdon Fire Department. The investigation is ongoing and police say more arrests are likely.
