Singer-songwriter Samantha Lynn stopped by the Q-106.5 studios on Thursday to talk about her start in country music and play us a few songs!

Samantha, who hails from Hampden, was joined by guitarist Rick Mooney, who will play with Samantha Friday night at the Charles Inn in Bangor.

Mooney actually taught Samantha to play guitar when she was 16 years old. It took her a little while to warm up to the idea of singing, though.

"Very shy," she said, laughing.

It's clear she's not shy any more. Samantha is 22 and a regular on the Maine music scene, even being voted one of Young & Free Maine's Top Musicians of 2014.

We're glad Mooney and Samantha's friends and family convinced her to sing, and you will be too when you watch the videos above from her recent visit.

And be sure to catch Samantha at the Charles tonight! The tunes will start at 9 p.m.

Thanks for coming in, Samantha! You're welcome back any time!
