The Salvation Army will host a civic luncheon on Friday to help celebrate the organization's 150th anniversary.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Spectacular Event Center on Griffin Road in Bangor.

"The Many Faces of The Salvation Army" will be the theme of the event. Organizers say the luncheon will be a great opportunity to learn how donations to the organization can make a major difference in people's lives.

“So often people will say to me, ‘I didn’t realize The Salvation Army did that,’” said Capt. Tim Clark, corps officer of the Bangor Citadel Corps. “So many people trust us with their donations, but don’t realize the range of services to the community that we provide."

Several long-time supporters and volunteers will also be recognized at the event.

Tickets for the luncheon are $15 and can be purchased at The Salvation Army, as well as The Salvation Army's website.
