Power Outage Affects Penobscot County Customers, Local Schools

Emera Maine reported more than 3,600 outages in northern Penobscot County on Thursday

Millinocket, Seboeis, Cedar Lake Township, Indian Purchase and several unorganized territories were affected by the outage.

Schools in Millinocket are also without power.

According to media reports, schools in Millinocket closed for the day at 10:00 a.m.

Emera says the outage was caused by a squirrel that got into a substation.
