Police in Waterville are searching for a man who robbed the Rite-Aid Pharmacy on Main Street Thursday afternoon.

In a press release Thursday afternoon, police said a man entered the store just before 3:30 p.m., displayed a knife and demanded property from the store.

Detectives said the man fled on foot and was last seen in the parking lot of the store heading north toward upper Main Street.

A state police k-9 unit was called in and tracked the suspect to a nearby parking lot, where the trail went cold.

Detectives say it's possible the suspect was picked up by a vehicle.

Police are not releasing information regarding the suspect's physical appearance, pending a review of the information and evidence collected from the crime scene.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.
