Portland Police have released the identity of a man who was shot last night in a Gilman Street Apartment.

According to the Portland Press Herald, 36-year-old David Anderson was killed and a second person was injured in a double shooting. The name of the second victim at the Shalom House property has not been released. Shalom House, according to its website, is a Portland-based organization that provides community-based services and housing for people with serious mental illness.

Police say there were at least four people in the apartment at the time of the shooting, including the tenant, the two visitors who were shot, and the shooter. This is the city's first homicide of the year and is not considered a random act.

Two photos of a person of interest in the shootings has been released to the media and show a man whose face is hidden by a hood. Police are working now to identify the shooter and determine what sparked the violence.
