Police are asking for the public's help locating a convicted sex offender. He has failed to meet his registration requirements since August and is suspected in several crimes.

The Bath Police Department is looking for Stephen McIntire, age 54. He is suspected of committing violation of privacy and criminal trespass. 'Violation of Privacy' is Maine's 'Peeping Tom' law.

In late October and early November, Police responded to the Hyde School Campus on multiple occasions for reports of an adult male looking in dormitory windows. On one of those occasions, a hidden video camera captured images of the man who was later identified as McIntire.

There is a warrant out for his arrest for failure to comply with the sex offender notification act, violation of privacy, and criminal trespass. McIntire has been required to register as a sex offender since he was convicted in 1997 for Gross Sexual Assault. In 2004, he was convicted of Violation of Privacy.

Bath Police ask that anyone with information about Stephen McIntire's location contact the Detective Division at 443-8367.
